Closing the gap on social enterprise data – what does European Social Enterprise Monitor tell us about Sweden?
European Social Enterprise Monitor (ESEM) is a collaborative initiative to gather information from European social enterprises with the ambition to inform decision-makers in government, civil society and the economy. The inaugural ESEM 2020/2021 report was initiated by Euclid Network together with country partners in Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
Forum for Social Innovation Sweden has led the work with ESEM in Sweden and invite you to the launch event for ESEM 2020-2021 and its Swedish chapter.
European Social Enterprise Monitor
Over the past decade, country monitors in countries such as Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom have delivered in-depth data on social enterprises and start-ups leading to important changes in policy-making, investment decision-making and an increased visibility and understanding of the social enterprise model and its crucial role in achieving the Global Goals. Building upon this success, Euclid Network in collaboration with its members and partners in eight countries embarked on a joint ESEM-journey to close the data gap with a collaborative approach. The first European ESEM report was launched on 26 May 2021, and the Swedish chapter of the ESEM report was released the same week.

Which role can data play for the development of social enterprises and the social economy? Are there complementary measures needed to increase visibility and understanding of the social enterprise model and its role in achieving the Global Goals?
